THE COMPANY

Founded in 1975, Muir Construction is one of Scotland’s largest privately owned contracting companies with a considerable track record in design build, traditional and management contracts.

THE ISSUE

Muir Construction had been managing their print fleet through three separate suppliers, leading to a lack of consistency in user experience, fragmented service support and dealing with multiple agreements and Account Managers.
Additionally, none of the providers seemed to be able to deliver toner replacements before the existing supplies ran out – this caused frustration when people were unable to print.

THE SOLUTION

To streamline Muir Construction’s print infrastructure, Document Data Group supplied a fleet of multifunctional devices, all featuring a consistent user-friendly interface regardless of whether the machine is A4 or A3. This unified experience is supported by a single dedicated Account Manager and one point of contact for both service and billing, significantly simplifying the overall process.

All devices were configured with remote toner monitoring, ensuring automatic supply before toner runs out, eliminating a major pain point from their previous setup. Additionally, our toner recycling program has added real value to the business, aligning with growing environmental expectations that increasingly influence contract wins.

Unlike previous suppliers who only focused on head office needs, we conducted a full assessment of Muir Constructions on-site operations. Previously, the company had been purchasing individual devices for site use, believing it was the simplest solution. We demonstrated the cost savings and convenience of consolidating these under our service, backed by responsive support whenever maintenance is needed. Furthermore, when a project is completed at a site, we collect the machines, refurbish them and redeploy them to their next site- maximising the value of their investment and supporting sustainable practices.
