Advance Construction Scotland evolved over 25 years ago providing a range of services within the construction industry from groundworks to plant & equipment to flooring solutions and a wide range of fully accredited training courses.
THE ISSUE
Advance Construction relied on an HP wide format printer for producing site drawings however the folder on the device was frequently unreliable and experienced repeated breakdowns. Service support from the incumbent provider was inadequate, resulting in extended period of downtime. On one occasion, the machine was out of operation for two weeks.
This outage had a significant operational impact. Staff were required to travel daily from Livingston to the head office in Bellshill to print essential drawings and have them folded, increasing travel time, reducing productivity and delaying project workflow. Access to up to date drawings is critical for ensuring on site teams meet project specifications.
THE SOLUTION
Document Data Group already supply Advance Construction with their office printers/photocopiers and having experience our service asked us to look at a wide format device. DDG recommended and installed a Canon wide format printer with an integrated folding unit, mirroring the successful setup already in place at Head Office.
This solution addressed the key challenges previously experienced. The reliability of the Canon device, combined with DDG’s responsive service support and a network of Canon specialist engineers across Scotland, ensures any potential downtime is minimised.
In addition, the inclusion of a fully operational folding unit has significantly improved efficiency allowing staff to focus on more important tasks.
